Zebra Sheer Shades
Our high-end collections of Italian zebra sheer shades
Custom Blinds Online.ca offers you the best quality for half the price with its imported Italian collections.
The extruded aluminum cassette (the part that hides the roller tube and the mechanism) is included and offered in four colours. It can be covered with the same fabric as the shade.
The shades come equipped with an ultra-resistant PVC chain (tested at 50 lbs) and a child-safe tensioning device approved by Health Canada.
A brief explanation of the zebra sheer shade
These shades, created in 2010, allow to switch between a day-time position, in which the sheer bands of both shades are aligned to allow you to see outside, and an evening position, in which the sheer bands of one of the shades are aligned with the opaque bands of the other one to provide complete privacy, regardless of the colour or texture of the fabric.
These shades can also be completely rolled up to clear the window.
Other names for zebra sheer shades
Similar shades are offered by other manufacturers under different brands. Some also call them Day & Night.

How to measure your blinds

This type of installation requires the frame to have a clearance of 1½″ in depth with no obstacles all the way to the bottom of the frame. The width measurement should only be taken at the top of the frame as these shades leave a clearance of about ½″ on each side of the shades when rolled down.
It is very important to measure the height at three different points, as shown in Fig. 1 below, and keep the shortest measurement. The zebra sheer shades are manufactured so as to leave a clearance of ⅛″ at the bottom of the frame when the bands are aligned to provide privacy. The clearance gap is a little wider when the bands are aligned to let you to see outside.

If you want the cassette to be the same width as the window frame, simply measure the outer width of the frame. If you want the shades to completely cover the window frame, add 2″ to the measurement.
As for height, there are two options. If the cassette is mounted directly on the frame, measure the outer height of the frame. If the cassette is mounted above the frame, add 3″ to the measurement.
